Adapting the rules of a physical world to the digital world is like trying to approach something infinitely small with a telescope or something infinitely large with a microscope. They are worlds with different rules.
When do you learn to speak a foreign language well? Not when you learn vocabulary and grammar, pronunciation and idioms, but when you start thinking the same way as the people who were born speaking that language. For example, if you talk to an English speaker trying to mentally build your sentences in Italian, with parenthetical and subordinate clauses, you will not get very far.
The same applies to the digital world! You may have technologies, tools, channels and skills, but if you approach it analogically, the results will be disappointing.
